In November 2022, Google began transforming how Google Business Profiles are managed via Search, as well as how Performance Insights are calculated. The insights that previously measured brand visibility will be discontinued by Google on February 20th. Here is how this will impact your LocalClarity experience.
Helpful metrics like Discovery Searches, Brand Searches, Direct Searches, Local Post Actions, Local Post Views, Merchant/Customer Photo Count and Views, and Driving Directions Geographic Data will be discontinued entirely by Google.
This will not impact any of your historic data in the platform. This historic data will still be available for reporting purposes. However, there will be no means of pulling in new data for the above mentioned Performance Insights due to the sunsetting of these API connections.
Views on Search and Views on Maps have changed to reflect data of mobile and desktop users separately. This will benefit users with increased granularity for measuring visibility.
Please see our graphic below for more information on what has changed.
Please see the images below for how this update will impact your dashboard. The biggest changes will be seen under our "Performance" tab.
A new section to view your mobile map views, your desktop map views, your search mobile views, and your search desktop views has been created.
For data that has been depreciated by Google, all historic data remains available for reporting and data interpretation purposes. Data ends, and a drop off is seen, at and after the API cut off date for new information in this section.
