Understanding Google's policy for removing reviews
Google has broken up their Prohibited & Restricted Content into two distinct categories: Deceptive Content/ Behavior and Inappropriate Content/ Behavior. Examples provided by Google are things like:
- Fake Engagement
- Harassment
- Hate Speech
- Impersonation
- Unintelligible and Repetitive Content
- Defacement & Mischief
Review Synchronization automatically marks removed reviews
In the event a user updates or removes a review, LocalClarity has the ability to regularly check and mark these instances. Under the Settings tab, in the Review Settings Module, you can find the ability to turn on the review synchronization feature. Please note that this is not automatically activated when a profile is made. Once manually turned on, it will regularly resync with your Google Business Profile to identify and mark any reviews that have been updated or removed since the last sync.
Removed Reviews will show a read 'X' where a responded symbol You can filter your ReviewsInbox to display any removed reviews by selecting the 'Removed' tab.
Google's own content moderation systems combined with LocalClarity's own internal removal system will help ensure that you will see the most accurate and up to date versions of your review data.
Remove Review from LocalClarity KPIs
Reviews Can also be removed due to IP address issues (multiple reviews for the same network location). The review filter runs periodically and takes down a number of reviews at once that are deemed illegitimate. The filter does not run in real-time which means businesses could have a review stick to their listing for months and then vanish at the same time as several other reviews.
You can mark reviews as being removed directly in the ReviewsInbox™. This allows you to maintain a perfect match between LocalClarity and the review platform in terms of the number of published reviews and average score, while also allowing you to retain a record of the original review.
Simply engage the 3-dot menu in the review detail pane and mark the review.
Marked reviews will remain in the list, but show a red "x" to designate they no longer appear on the platform.
