Distinguish between Google Location ID, Place ID, and CID in your Google Business Profile.
Your Google Location ID, PID (Place ID), and CID (Customer ID) are three identifiers that serve unique purposes for your Google Business Profile (GBP).
Location ID: A unique identifier assigned by Google to each business location in their database. Its primary purpose is to differentiate locations within the same GBP account. Like the other two IDs, this can not be manually changed. Google may change it if your business relocates or makes any drastic changes.
Place ID (PID): A unique string of characters that help users find and get directions to a specific location on Google Maps. Unlike the Google Location ID, which is specific to your business location, a Place ID refers to the geographic point on the map, and is unchanged by business changes or closings. This is the primary identifier of the listing across data sets.
Customer ID (CID): ID that Google assigns to a business listing across Google Maps, Ads, and Search. This is used by Google to organize listings across their different services and is not tied to the other IDs.
Where can I find these in LocalClarity?
You can find your Google Location ID, PID, and CID directly in the platform by going to the Locations module-Single Location Edit. Your Location ID will be shown on top followed by your PID and CID.
How does LocalClarity use these?
LocalClarity uses the PlaceID as the primary unique characteristic for each listing because it never changes. Alternatively, Store Codes are editable variables within LocalClarity that Users can use for their own custom organizational purposes. This gives Users multiple options for organizing their account.
