As Google Makes Core Updates, Site Rankings Can Be Disturbed
Google is rolling out a massive core update that may take up to two weeks to fully implement. This is an update to Google's search ranking algorithm, which can either increase or lower your site in search results. Having an idea of when these changes are implemented helps identify if something was changed with your listings or with Google's algorithm.
Google commonly cites three main points:
1.) A negative ranking does not necessarily mean there is something wrong with your pages.
2.) It publishes a list of factors to consider (asking questions like, "Does the website provide original reporting, research, and/or analysis?") .
3.) Google said you can see a minor improvement between core updates but the most significant change would be following another core update.
