Google Business Profile Allows Business Owners to Characterize Their Business as Black-Owned, Asian-Owned, LGBTQ+ Owned, Latino-Owned, Small Business, or Women-Owned
In an effort to expand its reach in the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) movement, Google Business Profile allows business owners to characterize their business as black-owned, Asian-owned, LGBTQ+ owned, Latino-owned, small business, or women-owned. Additionally, Google also allows users to identity as disabled-owned and Indigenous-owned. In the event that an owner activates one of the following identities, a personalized icon will display on the business's product description page (PDP), indicating that the business identifies as such. While the term "small business" is relatively subjective (by definition, it means that a.) the business isn't a franchise and b.) its annual revenue does not exceed $10 million), the other terms are self explanatory.
